Hey, im going to build a pc over the christmas holidays i was just wondering is there usually a reduction in the cost of parts in the new year, in other words would i save a bit of cash if i waited until january to buy them. Thanks.

Not really. Only if newer parts where coming out. The q6600 is meant to be going end of line so you may be able to pick one of those up a little cheaper in the new year.
