Do you find the intensive commercialisation of a artist like Tommy Tiernan detracts from the appeal of his act.

He uses PR alot, he has a DVD with Polish subs, there are ads on the TV for his DVD... (yes, I know he has to make a living too..)

So the question - Is Tommy Tiernan becomming Mc Tommy Tiernan - is he turning into highly commerical brand in the same way of Roy Chubby Brown and do you think his act will suffer as he tries to reach a wider audience?

Do you also think that musicians should stop selling CD's/downloads?

What? advertising a product is business 101

I dont get the polish subtitles remark either, should a book, film, comedy act not be translated into any other language, other than the native tongue of the artist/artists? think of all the brilliant books and films we would have missed if this was so!

yes in these recessionary times he should be a bit more sensitive to other peoples plight, perhaps he should only advertise his VD by word of mouth to people he meets in the street.

But this thread isn't about his level of funnyness, its about his capitalistic ventures and his solidarity with corporate ireland and poland.......i think.
