Its not so bad, was out for a cycle earlier and to be honest conditions are perfect. No sun in the eyes which is a problem at this time of year, no wind and no frost, perfect really

Well it was brighter this morning and clearer skies seemed to be on the way, and I was full of morning cheer. Now its dark and I have wait another day before I can head out on my rothar so am grumpy again. Its 100% cover here still this better clear overnight!! No doubt I'll be full of beans tomorrow morning again regardless :)

    -2.7C Dp -3.4
    Grass -9C!

All time Dec low of -4.2C and grass -10.3C very much under threat. (1999)

I think tonight will be it for me regarding very low temps for next few days as the easterly will keep air above zero after tonight

Give me freezing any day over the greyness!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

Cold and clear. 0.5c Hardly a breeze now.

Slightly OT - I was in Urlingford at around 6.10pm and seen two unusual objects in the sky. At first I thought it was a plane with an engine fire, but another came along. Unusual. Was not a helicopter either. [was stone cold sober too]

Sounds like Helium Lanterns I saw them and couldn't such what they were turned they were from a wedding up the road very weird, simalar thing happened in Laois I think it was, it was all over the radio they thought they were UFO's but turned out been Laterns from a wedding also

    AWS says I got there.
Currently -4.5C and I'd be surprised if grass isn't at least -11C and perhaps all time low of -11.9C.

I won't check screen till temp rises a little as body heat will affect readings.

A fantastic orange glow as well.

Fantastic outside, beautiful sky and incredible frost. Not as cold as MM but still an impressive -3.6°C here.

-2.5c atm. Sun about to pop up. 1039mb

Frost/low temps seems to be quite localised? NRA at Sandyford is reporting +1.5c (this is only a mile away from me).
