Dear Jesus, that had to be the worst attempt at a storyline ever, JBL ain't Ted DiBiase, this isn't 1987 and dear christ, that was just out and out lame. I'm hoping the match will deliver because the buildup sure as hell didn't.

To big of a match to be filler for such a minor PPV though.

Ok so what have all the people who slated me in the Unforgiven thread for criticising the decision to remove the World Title from Punk got to say now? I thought this was supposed to improve Punk's career? Now he's battling for the IC belt?

Where is the improvement?

I said I would eat humble pie if I was proved wrong but Fozzy, rovert and the others who slated me can get eating instead.

He was established though. My concern at the time was that they should have had faith in Punk as removing the belt like they did would hinder his development. It seems I've been proven correct.

He wasn't though. He bombed as champion just like Orton bombed in his first reign. The strap was put on him prematurely and everyone knows it. He couldn't even draw peanuts at an elephant farm as champion, probably because he was rushed into it.

If memory serves me right the rating tanked shortly after he lost it. I don't see anyone can seriously compare Orton's failed reign to Punk's. Punk was accepted as a babyface and had he been paired with better opponents I believe this would have continued.

I don't pay a lot of attention to ratings, although i think i remember them tanking during his reign, and people were looking for excuses other than the belt being on CP Munk, like Tivo etc.

Punk was over as a babyface, but not THAT over.
