It did help Punk's career. He's been put in various matches as the "star" of the match and his name means more now than it did before he won the title. He's higher on the card than before he won the title

The IC title has meant nothing for a good while now. But as soon as they got Punk involved in this title tournament they started pushing the title a lot more

Your expectations for Punk main eventing with the likes of Jericho, Michaels, Batista and Orton were never going to happen. He was never going to be pushed at the top consistently and all things considered he's come out of his title run for the better

The win definitely helped Jericho out too. They made some bad decisions later on I think, but that's not relevant to the initial win

The last news on Christian in the Observer was that he hadn't signed a new TNA contract, his current contract runs out before the end of the year (I can't remember when, might be up already) and that TNA are hopeful that he'll re-sign with them but they believe that it's more likely that he's going to WWE
