    Hi lads,

Basically i have a 00 skoda octavia, running perfect except for needing a replacement clutch. Anyway, rather than be like everyone else i kinda want to do something with the car i have.....

Basically does anyone have any advice for what to do and where to get body kits etc

I have already decided to get the engine remapped, so what else should i do??

    Cheers,

    Foxer

is it diesel or petrol? i owuld advise you to take styling ideas from the VRS,things like bodykits, brakes, wheels, seats, steering wheel etc etc will be readily available through ebay and breakers yards and will be of factory quality, stay away from dodgy aftermarket spurious parts such as fibreglass bodykits.

take a look on a skoa specialist forum like briskoda.

Just to point out that most parts such as steering wheels, alloys and seats form cars like the TTmk1,seat leon cupra mk1,mk4golf and Audi A3/S3 mk1 will fit the mk1 octavia no bothers.

Its a 1.9tdi, only 90 bhp but it was only 3k from a skoda dealer so i felt i had no other choice at the time.... but the 90 bhp is the reason for the remap. And it actually came with the official skoda alloys which was pretty nice.

I dont really want to go mental with it, maybe lower it a bit, throw on a not too skobey bodykit, dont think i would bother with tint, just a few things. sexy it up a bit.

I think going along a subtle VRS line would work a treat on it. What colour is it

TBH, spraying it black would be a bit of a waste, you would buy this for a bit more tha the cost of a respray. I'd say 3000 less depending on the dealer.

Oh no i decided against the respray, i think the silver is a well nice color tbh. I just need to decide what exactly to do now, and i need to decide what exactly im goin to do and how im goin to do it, what with 1 of those 9-6 jobs and no free time....

i'm sure you would change your mind if you drove that particular petrol model, or any big cc 6 cylinder plus petrol engine, if only for the sound.

By putting lights under it i hope you don't mean you intend fitting neons and turning it into an upside mobile sunbed!

Had a 318i for a week, hated everything about it. EVERYTHING. Had a seat ibixa and only for the engine was on its last legs i probably would have kept it. But i have driven my mates levin a ton of times and tbh its not my teacup :)

no offence to any 318 owners but BMW won't be remembered for that 4 cyl petrol engine, weezy is a word that comes to mind.

Back on topic.. at the end of the day its your car and your decision.i always think less is more and a few well chosen tasty mods go along way, things i would definitely do are

    Remap it
    Lower it
VRS or similar nice VW/Audi wheels
Colour code the rub strips to the same colour as the body and you have a tasty looking octavia.
