Well if this is directed towards the authorities would it not be better to ask them directly.

Plus text speak is really not very good form if you expect adults to respond to your plea for opinions.

That doesn't mean we should let every immigrant into the country even if they have no intention of learning our language or integrating into our society.

I was unaware that a lack of fluent English belied a deep seated desire to remain ignorant of it and avoid "integrating into our society".

I bet none of you has ever taken an English language proficiency test or a citizenship test.

I did, when I took up U.S. citizenship several years ago. The English proficiency test involved reading two simple sentences—of "The cat sat on the mat" variety—and writing one simple sentence. I could have easily passed the same test in any language with which I have passing acquaintance.

I know a doctor who failed his English proficiency test in America. He is Irish. The tester was a Texan with an accent you could cut with a knife and they had to try write down what he said. "Iah gotta pein in ma asss" stuff like that. Now im wrting in text speak....

But why does the OP consider the foreigners get better treatment than Irish? Is this anecdotal or do they have specific evidence?

I know of quite a few Irish who are scrounging off the state. You're right OP, the Irish are unbelievable!

Send the Caucasians back to Caucasia
when husban left home, she went to social welfare off. to applie to get support look after herself and kids,

is husban not paying for his kids? Thats something SOCIAL WELFARE should be checking out.

: When you make welfare payments to a foreigner, how do you know he doesn't have a billion euro and hundreds of properties in his or her own country? This information is easy to acquire if the applicant is Irish, isn't it?

The social welfare rely on people telling the truth in their applications. applicants are reminded that severe penalties will ensue if false information is submitted. That deters most people from telling lies. The onus is on the applicant to provide correct info and inform the welfare if their circumstances change or risk prosecution.

    Thats a bit pedantic tbh.

To be fair, we signed up to the EU and I do understand his point about people collecting social welfare and having plenty ensconed away in their home countrys. I remember reading somewhere that some Polish mothers were flying into Ireland (having moved back home) solely to collect the Child Benefit payments which are amongst the largest, if not largest, payments in the EU.

Its a problem inherent in the EU itself which ain't gonna be solved too soon courtesy of beauracracy which is there is spades.

    my story
i became an invilaid (70%) due to an accident, i applied for the pension, attended the interview, (or as i was told, to present myself) a cold wet novembers morning, hailstones etc, i had to hobble about a mile to the appointment, as you can guess i was wet tired and sore, the 1st thing i was asked to do take off my shoes and socks i was unable so a nurse did the needy, i asked why,
the answer, in case you have pebbles in your socks, (the specialists report was not accepted)
    the next question
what could you do before, that you cannot do now
i answered, i cannot run in out of the rain
2 weeks later i got a letter telling me i was fit for work
i went and signed on, they laughed at me and told me to attend my doctor for a social welfare cert.
the systm in place is the minister stands up in the dail and says x no. of people knocked of the sick at a saving of xxx to the dept, when all in fact is happening the are being juggled over to the other dept

According to one of our local self-confessed spongers, to avail of the nixers pocket-money scheme, honesty hasn't got a place on the list of requirements. It may well be that the Social Welfare has no access to foreign bank details, but they also have no access to Irish native accounts if they are not declared by the claimant.
