Monitor Advice

My old 24" Acer LCD went bust so in the market for a new one.

Wanted to go for the same size and 2 caught my mind

It has a 16:9 aspect ratio and its got a native resolution of 1920x1080 which I believe is the monitors only resolution.The idea was that I be able to connect my PS3 to it as well as my PC. This would alow me to watch movies on blu-ray and DVD and play games on the PS3 in there correct aspect ratio. I believe 720p content is automatically upscaled to 1080p. The only probably I have is apparantly it does not have 1:1 pixel mapping meaning that any game that does not support 16:9 resolutions on the PC will not look right at all on the monitor.

This is a 16:10 monitor. More expensive but alot more connections on it and apparantly better imagine quality. Although there has been reports of small input lag. It seems like the safest bet for PC gaming. But now the aspect ratio of movies and the PS3 is off.

What would be your preference. Which aspect ratio would you prefer?

personally i'd go for a 16:10, in terms of sheer usability i think a 16:10 is more versatile. it's not too far off really from the 16:9 in terms of playing your PS3 on it, and i find it better to have the extra depth for doing things like browsing, reading or coding...

no idea on the technical side of things though
