(Or, omg I can't believe its a recession thread/Stephen!/won't someone think of the children)

On my short way home this evening I came across about 6 people at different instances who were polluted drunk. I'm not one to look down on others for their drinking habits, but 9pm seemed a bit early to be finding it hard to walk. One of the lads looked like an out of work builder. So have people noticed an increase in drunks who are trying to escape their reality the past while? Or was the fact that I was on my way to the offie playing with my mind?

the real question is why aren't we out getting drunk with them?

probably celebrating the news that there's no increase in drink prices. any excuse really?

    (What recession?)

Well as I sit here in my luxury castle viewing my 27 inch pc screen, the maid tells me that when I send her down to the offie' in the rolls she comes across something she calls riff-raff. I hadn't given it much thought

...but I suppose it could be drunks falling out of the Dail bar. That strange building does indeed attract a certain type of element best avoided!

Its childrens allowance the first tuesday of the month. They're probably out pissing that away.

Hi. My name is Terry and I grew up in the 80's.

It's dole day for some. That means going on the piss because they have just lost their jobs and have nothing else to do.

The reason they are coming home at 9 is that they haven't adjusted to all day drinking yet. Give it a few months and this will be a regular sight for most of you.

Redundancy cheques being put to good use before a heartless wife/partner nicks it for frivolous baubles such as Wiis and Elmos.

Don't go out that night then when they hand out the Christmas dole bonus!
A sad reflection of our times. Depressing...

One of the lads looked like an out of work builder.

So there he is, walking down the street in his hard hat and tool belt but you see right through him as he's wearing his white runners and everyone knows they don't let you onto the building site wearing anything other than steel-toed boots!

I applaud your attention to detail, sir.
