Planning permission required for small timber cabin?

    Hi,

I am wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with planning for building a small timber cabin for myself to stay in, i.e. one bedroom, toilet, shower, kitchen/living area (less then 25m sqr). If planning is required is there any way of avoiding having to apply for it, i.e. claim it as a temporary dwelling as oppose to permanent (as this is how it will be used).

I am considering building it myself as a side project next year on some land we have in the country side. There should be no issue with neighbours as there is only a few living around where I plan on putting it. The plan is to put it on the side of a hill overlooking the sea, 500m from a secondary road and two hundred from my parents home house.

    Cheers for any comments.

Planning permission is required regardless of size, shape or materials used.

Please read the forum charter especially in relation to attempting to circumvent planning regs.
