replacing battery for iphone 3g

was reading on apples site that the battery will diminish slightly with every full charge cycle and that after so many charges that it may only hold 50% of the power a new one could..which is normal for lithium batteries i know..

question is..when this does happen where do i go to get it replaced? If i didnt buy my phone from o2 does that just mean im screwed??

and extra 100 euro fee if u want the 16gb version serviced? its the same bloody phone!! total scumbags

That's not the price for battery replacement, however. Out-of-warranty battery replacement costs a flat €79 (incl VAT) plus €12.10 shipping and handling.
