Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Havent seen that confirmed anywhere but because it would address Chelsea's lack of width in midfield and mean him playing under his old National coach, the move makes sense if Inter no longer want/need him. He will have till the seasons end to prove that Chelsea should/do want/need him.

Confirmed on SSN. I don't rate him at all and I don't think alot of people do really, which includes Mourinho also voted the worst buy in Europe during the summer.

Anyone else reckon Joe Kinnear has done some great business in this window apart from the Given one?

Kevin Nolan, Ryan Taylor and looking like Micheal Johnson. All very good players and will really suit newcastle me thinks.

    Not so much, no.

Bolton forums we're jumping for joy when Nolan left, the bloke seems to a typical signing for us in that he is on the downward spiral of his carear. He looked quite unfit on Saturday.

Taylor could be decent, but we'll see on that one.

£8 million for Johnson is madness when you consider we only got £6 for Shay, and from what Xavi says on here about his larger lad ways, joining us would do no one favours.

It's a fcuking disgrace that we have fook all to show for this window.

Combining the money from the Milner sale, Given and Insomnia, we had £26 million to spend. Taking off Nolan's and Taylor's fee, that leaves a healthy £20 million, and that's before the Fat Controller spends a penny of his own. Seriously, I really think Ashley and co. are on a kamikaze mission, as our squad is crying out to be strengthened if we are to avoid relegation.

Quaresma on loan is a nice little deal. Good work by Scolari if I do say so. IMO isn't good enough as first choice for a top class club, but at least provides some width so will instantly improve Chelsea and I'd say do quite well for himself.

That's an example of excellent business in the transfer market for very little money.

    *tips hat to Scolari*

Ah Arturo, I remember when I used to think he would destroy Premiership defences for fun and him and Rossi would win every international trophy for Italy for the next two decades....

He just made it in time.
Stoke City have completed the signing of Birmingham defender Stephen Kelly on loan until the end of the season.

The Potters agreed a deal to sign the 25-year-old right-back on Monday.

However the move was put on hold as the Republic of Ireland international could not travel to the Britannia Stadium to sign a contract because of the snow.

Confirmation of the loan was held up while the Premier League assessed whether all the necessary paperwork had been completed before the deadline.

Kelly played in every minute of the Blues games in the Premier League last season but has been restricted to just seven appearances this campaign because of a thigh injury.

He started his career at Tottenham and made 36 starts for Spurs, before joining Birmingham for £750,000 in June 2006.

Kelly could be in line for his Potters debut when they take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Apparently his contract is up in the summer so it could prove to be a permanent thing. It will be good I think from Ireland's perspective to see him playing in the Premiership what with Finnan's injury issues.

Is he anywhere near the Ireland panel these days? I haven't heard his name mentioned in a while...

I think that is just because of his injury problems since trap has been around he should be just behind the now aging Finnan for RB imo although wether trap will change his squad i dunno. but he is def good enough for an Ireland squad.

Do we have any other specialist right backs?

not really but we do have the options of McShane or O'Shea after Finnan but for me Kelly is Irelands no.2 RB option. We used to have lots with Carr before the injury who were all of a decent standard.

Whatever happened to Spurs signing Appiah? is he still on trial as it says on his wiki page (of course that might just have not been updated in weeks).
Stephen Appiah (born December 24, 1980) is a Ghanaian international football midfielder and captain of the Ghana national team who is currently on trial at Tottenham Hotspur F.C.

Have not heard, don't think he'll get a contract at Spurs after Palacios was signed.

Arsenal should jump in for him...we don't have a decent DM in the squad!

there could be a really good reason for him not having found a club willing to take him on since the summer.

Yeah, I know...I think it's mainly fitness issues though, so he'd fit right in at Arsenal!
