Today FM's web site gets a much needed revamp

Finally, Today FM have dragged themselves into the 21st century with a re-vamped and much improved web site at www.todayfm.com

Frankly, in my humble opinion, this is an enormous improvement on the old site, and whoever is responsible for it deserves a pat on the back (although I'm sure they were well paid for it...)

Dunno - mixed impressions from here.

There's no doubt that it's a big improvement but it looks very templated/generic ?

The only tiny nod towards the standard Today FM branding & colours is the logo......whether you love the colours or hate them is irrelevant, they're the corporate colours, and the new site has none of them.

The listen online player (with 3 options) is brilliant! Top marks for offering alternatives!

It's clear enough to get around and use, but there are a few other bits; the Premier League Fixtures & Lists should be read remotely and embedded in the site, IMHO, and the shop needs a fair bit of work to align properly and to look OK in browsers other than IE.

But definitely a huge improvement!

Does it still end up putting podcasts, etc, on a site that resolves as being radioireland.ie? Fixing that would at least bring them in to 2008 not 1998...

It's a big improvement on the old site. I found that even with a broadband connection, it took forever to load. This one's a lot faster and doesn't look like it was designed by a 14 year old gone mad with Frontpage.

hmmm im not really convinced... as a web designer for many years it just looks unfinished to me, certainly did not take my breath away, ok it is better than the previous site, but it looks like a "site in a box" "insert site name here.com" kind of site.. and that advert window on the right ruins it... puts it all off center :mad:

The site looks great but not all the presenters will use the blog etc...

that bloke foley talked about it loads and he has yet to post anything since the launch....ever since he won his meteor award he's stopped caring about his listeners...he used to be cool and different by posting the video updates...since he won the award he couldn't care less...he's just another DJ now...sad really

i like him too, and while he got lazy for a while, i think the show lately has been improving again.

but thats an aside, discussion of him was limited on here due to a)him posting on here and causing grief, and b) every time he was discussed it turned into an argument!

I know. How he gets away with it every day is beyond me. But in fairness, that JP chap is just as bad. They should both go.
