Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have the tamron 17-50mm 2.8 good and wide, cheap and great IQ, I highly recommend it.

    Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 €200ish
    Canon EF 30mm f/2.0 €250ish

Unless you're looking for a ultra wide? If that's the case...300eur is not gonna be near enough for an ultra wide tbh.

Not looking for a ultra wide. Was just looking at the sigma 28-70mm 2.8 wide angle zoom. Any have this or recommend it?

Yeah I've used the sigma 28-70. Image quality wise you get what you pay for. If it were me I'd spend more on a lens but with its aperture of 2.8 throughout the zoom it is quite enticing.

    Have a read of this

They don't have the sigma in question. I had a quick look and couldn't find it.

i had one of the 24-70 2.8 sigmas, i hated it

it was slow, and not great in low light, the focus hunted a lot

BUT i know other people who have them that really like them

Sigma seems to be a great choice if you're not in a hurry.
Flower closeups are a relaxing way to unwind with a slow lens.

This might be of use, as it mentions a cashback incentive with Kerso.

Does anyone know what happened with Kea photo actually? Trying to order a lens for chrimbo, will probs just get it in town now though.

Kea have their own site now, http://www.keaphoto.com/ as advertised on another post here.
The sigma 28-70 EX is a decent enough lens, as mentioned by stcstc it does hunt in low light though. Its also soft at the wider end, I have one, I use it in the F4 - F5.6 range mostly and usually just during the day.
Id suggest that your 50mm prime f1.8 is perfect for gig photography, youll prob find that most ppl recommend it for this and the Sigma 28-70 would do for most other everyday uses.
    Best of luck with it,
    Al

Sorry to be dragging up an old thread, but I've just bought a Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 lens. Anyone here liked this lens or have I just thrown a hundred yoyos down the drain? :)

I guess it doesn't really matter if others like it. If you like it is what is important.

True...won't know for sure until I've got it in my hands, though. Worth a punt at €100 anyhow.:)
