Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Connect360 OSX10.5.5 No Device Detected

Just wondered if there were any other mac users on here that have Connect360 up and running with the Xbox 360.

It used to work as advertised for me with no hassle what so ever. No sadly no device is ever detected and when I run the Network test for computers on the Xbox it always fails. I have exhausted all of my attempts, opened all the recommended ports in NAT but nothing seems to fix the problem.

Both Mac and Xbox are going through an Eircom Netopia router.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Is the software legit?
    2. Disable mac firewall, and then test

All the software is 100% legit and I have turned the Mac Firewall off.

I'm having the same problem, possibly something to do with the new update?

With my setup, the xbox lan takes the external IP address, while the Mac has a local NAT ip (192.x.x.x)

    Is your's similar?

I've a feeling that was the issue, but haven't got it sussed just yet.

Yeah I noticed that last night as well.

It seems most people piggy back the Xbox web connection off the mac which is something I hadn't tried yet. I might try that tonight with home plugs. I want to stay away from a wireless setup as I find it's too slugish..

If both machines aren't on the same LAN, then I don't think it will auto pickup the Connect:360 share.

What I'm going to do, is set the IP on the xbox to same network as the mac.

For me, the xbox is wired, while the mac is wireless.

OK. Got this 100% sorted last night.

The way I got there was to connect to the Eircom router wirelessly with Airport connection and then share that connection with the ethernet. I am then connected to the Xbox from my iMac using home plugs. This allowed the Xbox to both connect to the internet and also Connect360 perfectly.

The following two links contain all of the information that I used to do this. There is a couple of things you need to do in the Terminal but it is as simple as cut and paste.

All of this info and the guides are 100% legit. There is absolutely no cracking, hacking or anything illegal about what you are doing.

Now I need to study file formats and compression for streaming movies as MP4 has a 4gig restriction and when I have HD content in a WMV it keeps trying to buffer over the network. It looks stunning when it works but I still have a few creases to iron out.
