Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi everybody,

I upgraded to Windows XP SP3 (from SP2) a few months ago. It made my computer slow down at the 'switching the computer on' stage....other than that it's fine.

My friend is currently using xp SP2. Is it really worth his while upgrading inspite of the longer logging-in time which might occur? Is SP3 really safer and more secure?

have you run the disk defragmenter since you upgraded?

It is definitely worth updating your software to SP3. No point in running outdated versions.

Can't say I've noticed any longer start up times after upgrading to SP3, but I have noticed a big increase in FPS in games, and when rendering media.

Upgrading to SP3 is a big problem if you have an AMD based HP desktop. HP use the same disc image on their Intel and AMD builds and SP3 activates a disabled Intel sys file on install which causes a major problem on reboot. Look here for a full explanation and an easy fix before applying the service pack. https://msinfluentials.com/blogs/jesper/archive/2008/05/08/does-your-amd-based-computer-boot-after-installing-xp-sp3.aspx
