Odour from storage heater

I have an electric storage heater in my apartment that is starting to give out a gas like odour. It's not very strong but you can smell it as you enter the room. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

A strong odour is normal when new. Turn it up 100% and after a while the smell will "burn off". I often find they do this for just the first day or 2. If this problem persists it is something else!
