Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I have no experience of this model in specific but generally tefal make excellent friers.

    yep all you need is one spoon but you can add more to taste, the chips are even nicer with two spoons! We mainly use if for frozen chips, you dont need ANY oil for these according to the instruction manual as they are already coated in oil i guess

    That would only be for 'oven chips' though wouldn't it? Ordinary frozen chips, meant for normal frying in a deep fat fryer, don't have any oil added, there wouldn't be any point after all. And if you're going to buy oven chips, then you may as well save yourself a wad of money, and just cook them in the oven, I guess.

    Anyway, I'm not too convinced myself. I'd like to see some information regarding the amount of oil actually absorbed (and therefore eaten) by the chips in both cases. It doesn't really matter how much oil you use to fry them in, what matters is how much you end up consuming in the end.

    Didn't think so, but maybe you're right. If they are par-cooked first, then the amount of fat that they absorb during that process is much, much less than oven chips, as I learnt when I once bought non-oven chips and tried to cook them in the oven :)

    ordinary frozen chips (the ones sold for deep fryer use) already contain a small bit of oil as they are partly fried .. the small bit already on them is enough ... these taste great from the tefal, nothing like oven chips!!
