Odd. Hope our ISP's don't follow suit.

    interesting
a / a lot of "Irish" ISP's are British / route traffic through the UK

b / in the past our censors have banned some paperbacks while allowing the hardback copy presumably on the basis that ABC1 readers would be less affected than the plebs - maybe they will allow the Record cover but ban the CD ?

Good point there Captain. Not many people realise just how much Ireland is an unofficial member of the UK when it comes to things like films and books etc.

Ireland's a part of the one distribution area along with the UK. If a film is censored by the BBFC that censored copy of the film is the same that's released here.

I'd rather legalise child pornography than see these measures taken to where they lead.

Where does pornography come into it...?

IWF backs down on Wiki censorship

The IWF regulates illegal online content
The online watchdog, the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), has withdrawn its objection to a Wikipedia page that contained an image of a naked girl.

Common sense prevails..... until the next time

    Ah, good good.
That IWF seems unecessary, have they not heard of rapidshare and torrents ?
There's more dangerous sites they should be blocking.
