Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

We are starting to look at applicances so that we can move into our new build and we were looking at numerous appliances at the weekend. Something we hadnt thought of was whether to go for a condenser tumble dryer or a vented. What has everyone got here? Which is better / easier to run?

I would go vented: our daughter has a condensing one and it gets very humid in house so she opens the window anyway

Vented - definitely. We had a condensor a while back and it just isn't as good as the vented. It takes much longer to dry the clothes.

something you should look at is the wattage of both - lower wattage will cost less to run. having said all that a vented dryer will definately dry clothes faster. sometimes you can get them with a delay start function - so if you have night-rate elecricity you can set it to come on at the time when your electricity is cheaper!!:)

    Vented it is so......

Better get a hole made in the wall for the vent

vented , vented , vented - i rented a house that had a condensing one - took longer to dry clothes and hassle of emptying water too

My brother had a condensing one too but didn't really understand the operation - he couldn't figure out why the clothes wouldn't dry even though he had done everything right including keeping the water container topped up!

Just to be clear - this is only the case IF you have a night meter. Electricity is the same price day and night if you have a single meter. As artyeva said, you must have night rate electricity. I've spoken to so many people who incorrectly assume that electricity is cheaper at night for everybody....

    Good choice!!

Just remember to get your builder to bore the 4" hole for the pipe.
