handbrake

    just pulled up outside the house. went to put the handbrake on when i heard a clung sound. handbrake is very loose now. went to have a look but i coudn't take off the cover only a 3 screws as needed to take of a nut with a socket which i don't have.

    would the cable have just come off. how much to fix.

    just pop it back on if it came off

    There's a good chance a cable may have snapped.......

    My handbrake cable snapped a few weeks back. It was 25 euro for a new cable but 75 euro for a half hour's labour to replace it!

    Find a good garage that isn't a main dealer and get a rate from them!

    got the cable changed today. was charged 85 euro. he said it took 3 hours to do. it was a punto.

    is that a good price.
