    A mate of mine just got word that he has received 2 penalty points for speeding in Ballinasloe.
    Can you be punished for speeding from a mobile speed trap without being pulled in? I always though you had to be stopped by the Gardai if the camera was not static?
    Any theories?

    No theories, they got caught speeding. Suck it up and take the punishment

    It was prob a Gatso van that caught her. Could range anything from a big van to a VW Sharon type thing - Either way, they got the speed & reg - caught

    Of course your friend can appeal it if they feel they werent actually speeding

    How long does it usually take to be informed if you've been caught speeding?
