People opposed the death penalty are tree huggers and hippies... Peace out man. Why do people insult those who vote for something? "OMG people who vote for the opposition are braindead nutjobs" It's sad, really is... I respect your decision, I may not agree with it but I don't bash you for it.

If you took the time to read the thread (I understand this may be difficult as it is long) you would see that we are not out for blood and revenge, but the death penalty could act as a preventative method for crime.... COULD

Wait, so you're advocating a permanent punishment, handed out by a fallible justice system and you're defense of this is that it could prevent crime?

That right there, that's why people are making fun of you.

it might not prevent crime but it would stop it recourring by the same people once they get early relase for being good little boys .......
you say innocent people will sooner or later killed by the state and your right but let a serial killer or rapiest out early and of course no one will get hurt killed etc
    i love your logic:rolleyes:
you cant make an omlet with out breaking eggs
besides every one is going on about how prisons are over full sounds like a case of win win to me

Oh? People are making fun of me? Should I tell my mother? Boohoo!!!

Well I could replace "Could" with "Would" but then you would bitch some more, in a differant way. Unfortunately I do not have the ability to see the future, hence why I said would. Giving the fact that a serial criminal, has, in fact commited a specific crime repeatidly, I would say ending that persons life has increased the chances of preventing further crime... Kill em all I say. Who needs them? Pfft... I care not for your pro life argument. It rubbish.

    *EDIT*

We don't even have to kill and bury them, but burn them and make products out of their body fats... soaps and that. Make a few bob out of the scum. That's how we could pay back society...

This is because your argument is poorly thought out, and has nothing to do with justice.

Unfortunately I do not have the ability to see the future, hence why I said would.

I think you mean 'could', but you still don't see the inheriant problem of handing out a irreversable sentance when the system is fallible. Until you adress this your idea is without merit.

(ProTip: you can't fix the fact that the system is fallible)

Giving the fact that a serial criminal, has, in fact commited a specific crime repeatidly, I would say ending that persons life has increased the chances of preventing further crime... Kill em all I say. Who needs them? Pfft... I care not for your pro life argument. It's rubbish.

A stunning rebuttal. A nice combination of faulty logic (as in, murder is the only possible way to prevent someone reoffending ever) and a massive ego that has no problem deciding when someones life is forfit.
You have consistantly failed to make a case for the death penality, unless you've got something beyond "I think we should kill all the people i've decided need to die" i'd suggest just letting it go.

Life imprisonment with the option of suicide.

well, you always have that option, if you're creative enough.

Some people don't. It could be dealt with in a more humane way. However it should be the person committing the act themselves. Society should facilitate it but not commit the act.

    whats the point?

rapists and murderers will continue to get away with light or suspended sentences, while the prisons are full of people who dont pay for their tv licence.

This is what I meant in my last post :)

Just as long as we don't do it, death is ok by us..

Ah I just love this argument that always gets trotted out.

People seem to think that a serial rapist will get a comfy cell with a plasma screen TV and out in 3 weeks whereas the guy who forgot to pay his library fines ends up in a pit getting human booster shots of Big Bubba for 30-life.
