Say I am 25, male, fresh out of Tipp.

What would I get paid in my first year as a copper. (including rent allowance, overtime, all other benefits, discounts).

    Any ideas?

    I would hazard a guess of €70,000 +

You'd be a Garda, not someone with a PhD and 2-4 years of prior work experience...

Back in the days of the celtic tiger,,, i made just over that in a year... but i had a number of years of service under my garda belt, was on a specialist unit that had a mountain of over time and i worked nearly everyday because of it.
In the current climate as a newbie you will prob make around 35k thats with ot/allowances etc. big money doesnt start in AGS until you have service or a unit that has members that dont do ot which leaves loads for you. And at the moment there's no overtime for anyone

On attestation Gardai earn in the regions of 26,000 euro. After 10 years its aabout 40,000 euro. After 17 years, its about 44,000. C.2016, the 17 year pay will rise to almost 50,000 euro. Go to www.gra.ie, and find the full list. Of course, as dj said, THIS IS WITHOUT OVERTIME!
