Hi guys I need to get an afternoon train to cork once a week returning that night for a couple of months in the new year, I need to get to Tuckey Street in the city centre. Do you know what cork station I get off thats closet to this location, had a look on google maps but i'm still none the wiser. Also if I'm leaving Dublin at luchtime and leaving cork at approx 6pm is there anyting I should bear in mind as ive never done this journey. Can i get a monthlu ticket to reduce the cost?

    Thanks for any help.

There is only one station in Cork city (Kent Station), which is on Glanmire Road, north of the river.

Trains leave Dublin on the hour every hour and return from Cork every hour on the half-hour.

The cheapest tickets are EUR 20 each way and are available only at www.irishrail.ie and on selected trains only. Otherwise, the web fare is EUR 30 each way.

    Full details are at http://www.irishrail.ie/news_centre/news.asp?action=view&news_id=402

I don't htink a monthly ticket would help you much but do buy the tickets online they are cheaper then the station.
