Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If Ronaldo did that last night, Dunphy would be all over it like a Aldi nappy rash.

But "no no Bill, Rooney is class Bill, Rooney is a proper player Bill, Ronaldo....he's a cur, a brat, a lowlife, a puffball"

I love Rooney whens he's on form and is goin for it. But there is no "In fairness to the boy" "ah come on lads" "thats who he is" excuses for his behaviour last night.

Borderline using the word "scummy" to discribe it

Man Utd star Wayne Rooney could find himself in trouble with Uefa for his lunge on Kasper Risgard in Wednesday night's UEFA Champions League clash with Aalborg.

Rooney, who scored United's equaliser in the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, also gained some unwanted attention for a second-half tackle that floored Michael Jakobsen.

The England star could find himself in hot water for the incident before the break involving Risgard.

If Uefa decide to punish Rooney over the clash he could be handed a ban or fine.

Risgard revealed Rooney apologised to him for the tackle and he felt he striker was lucky to escape a red card.
    Big marks

"I do not think the referee saw it. Anywhere else but this place it would have been a red card," said Risgard.

"I have some big marks and I do not think it looks good on television.

"There was also another incident with Rooney where he threw an arm and hurt one of our players.

"But these challenges happen in football and he did come and apologise to me after the game."
id say the punishment will be only a slap on the wrist

I'm becoming increasingly fed up with Rooney - poor form and poor attitude.

Rooney has always been a hot headed dirty bastard. The lad had cooled down somewhat over the past coouple of seasons but it was always there, nothing new.

    United wait on UEFA decision

    Thursday, 11 December 2008 09:12

Manchester United face an anxious wait to discover whether UEFA will take action against Wayne Rooney for his lunge on Kasper Risgard in last night's Champions League clash with Aalborg.

Rooney, who scored the second for United in their 2-2 draw, also gained some unwanted attention for a second-half tackle that floored Michael Jakobsen.

But it was the incident before the break involving Risgard that Europe's governing body will want to look at more closely, with Rooney facing a fine or suspension from the knock-out phase if UEFA feel he has a case to answer.

Risgard was in no doubt, claiming Rooney apologised to him for the clash.

The midfielder said: 'I do not think the referee saw it. Anywhere else but this place it would have been a red card.

'I have some big marks and I do not think it looks good on television.

'There was also another incident with Rooney where he threw an arm and hurt one of our players.

'But these challenges happen in football and he did come and apologise to me after the game.'

Sir Alex Ferguson claimed he had not seen anything untoward and will hope UEFA reach the same conclusion, especially as old foes Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan are among United's possible last-16 opponents.

The Scot has been at loggerheads for most of the year with Real over their pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo, with president Ramon Calderon singled out for most of Ferguson's ire.

He said: 'That would be a nice party wouldn't it?

'I look forward to tea and biscuits with Ramon Calderon.'

Atletico Madrid, Sporting Lisbon and Lyon, the side United beat at the same stage last season, are other possible opponents for the holders.

However, Ferguson accepts United need to become more clinical after spurning a series of opportunities to increase the lead Tevez gave them after just three minutes and then finding themselves behind at the break.

He said: 'It is a concern.

'It could be carelessness, it could be anything. But we are missing too many chances and we have done it again tonight.

'If we don't start taking these opportunities at some point we are going to get embarrassed.

'Fortunately it didn't happen tonight but if we are not careful we will get a defeat when we need a win.'

Indeed, United won only two matches from their six Group E outings, although they have extended their unbeaten run in Champions League combat to 19.

Not that it will matter much on Saturday when United face a crucial trip to in-form Tottenham.

Former Spurs duo Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov both missed last night's game, with Ferguson confirming both men are doubts for the White Hart Lane trip.

United's injury concerns were, though, not an issue for Aalborg, whose stand-in manager Allan Kuhn hailed the draw as the best result in the club's history.

But it was not such good news for Aalborg's sports director, Lynge Jakobsen, who had promised to fly home naked if the visitors got a positive result.

Kuhn smiled: 'I think he has a problem now.

'Maybe if he puts some money in a collection for the players they will let him keep his tie on.'

You'd almost want him to get in trouble so he cops the fúck on some time in the future.
