    Suffolk Street/Andrew Street...business as usual...on the (contra-flow) cycle track.

Big arse parked in a parking space and half the Clontarf cycle track:

Even the BMW driver shows a bit of consideration.

Are you not being a bit harsh on the Jaguar there? We cant see the full picture there, but im betting it was either he left his nose poking put or his arse? Either way he wouldve been called obnoxious.

Faced with those options, instead of taking the trouble to find a bigger parking spot, he chose to obstruct the cycle track.

Going too far with this one imo, the way the track is butted up right against the spaces means everyone will be overhanging it to some extent. Especially anyone who reverses in and hasn't got a compact car. Its not obnoxious parking, it's obnoxious design of cycle track.

+ 1 ^^^ You are damned if you do and damned if you don't frankly especially when it comes to the cycling fraternity. If they choose to damage your car intentionally then they are the obnoxious ones if they feel they CANNOT get around this.

    Two Pictures to give context

We recently saw the truck reversing up William Street in Limerick a page or two ago. This is a side street off of it. When I was leaving there was a JCB reversed down the alley(facing the wrong way) and filling up the small shovel thing. He then drove the wrong way up the one way street.

In these pictures you can see a tight squeeze for the Jeep as the truck was on top of the foothpath on one side and cars on the other side.

Behind the truck are 4 more cars. The one at the very back is blocking TWO foothpaths on a Junction.

Nah, have you ever used a trolley/pram on a path in a shopping centre with the arse side of a car sticking out onto the path? It's worse when there's two cars reversed in like that. Completely obnoxious, there'll be more than enough room at the front of the spot rather than hang out.

Next time I'm in Nutgrove Shopping Centre I'll find plenty of examples I'm sure!

Ah, the old 'blame bad roads for bad drving' line, it's been a while. All the other drivers exhibited some measure of personal responsibility, why not the Jag driver?

And two drivers who couldn't even get Obnoxiously Parking In A Disabled Space correct!

Those last two were Tesco and Aldi in Tullamore, right? It may have been easier to have taken pictures of the considerately parked cars, I've never seen a day where there wasn't an obnoxiously parked car:rolleyes:

^^ Is that a privately owned ambulance?

Yes it is, but that particular company does some emergency work, particularly in the West. What type of bay was it parked in?

Those rarely occupied spaces are for HSE Vehicles only although rarely occupied because the HSE Ambulance Station is across the road with probably 50 spaces.

IMHO from visiting the hospital on a regular basis this is a bullsh*t thing to do because outside Outpatients is where the Ambulances ALWAYS park obnoxiously on the roundabout but they get away with it like ALL obnoxious parkers because they stay with the vehicle.

Pinched from another forum I frequent.

You could park this anywhere and it would still be classed as 'obnoxious parking'.

Ah, so that explains why such obnoxious parking is so commonplace and so normal in this country.

It's a legitimate tax avoidance measure!

Calling it Motor Tax officially spoilt the fun.

That should be crushed, and the driver shot for crimes against humanity.

EDIT See post 5319 before quoting this one. Viewing pic on iphone previously.

As much as that is bad parking, it is NOT COOL to climb all over somebodies car especially a soft top. More damage could be caused to the car than simply letting the passenger out before going into the space.

  • Registered Users Posts: 208 ✭✭sean_d

Is she not climbing all over her own car?
And is the BMW door pressed against the rear door of the Toyota?
Not just obnoxious parking, but obnoxious getting-out-of-car-ing too!

It's a bit confusing alright, is she the bad parker getting out of her car or is she the passenger in the car beside her?

EDIT Oh wait, came off iPhone and used PC to Zoom in. That is her drivers door open. So, she is the asshat. What an ASS.

    Sorry, what?

Why would she intentionally park her car like an asshat and have somebody take a picture of her?

Look how many of these pics feature BMWs.... go figure ;)

Are you sure the BMW is hers?

No one could be so stupid as to park like that, see that they can't get out comfortably, and not either shuffle to the left, or worse, leave it as it is and get out the passenger door?
