The Loading bay outside BT's in Limerick is considered a parking space judging by the amount of cars parked there this evening!

Carpark in Clane behind Londis as 12 today. F**king mayhem. This selfish w*nker didn't help (not even close to M5 exempt), no room between it and the fusta. rear of the Bora is just proud of the dark Focus.

    prick20111202.jpg

I squeezed into a space to find cars parked all over the place when I returned after c. 2 minutes.

    carnage1_20111202.jpg

Couldn't get out ... The A3 is parked up btw

    stuck20111202.jpg

Bint returned to the volvo as I had the rear off side corner up against her bumper. I didn't hold back...

Red hatched are is marked for amulance use only and the disabled space is now useless.

But sure it was the closest spot to the door so its ok, he was only going in to the shop for a minute.

A man with a disabled badge came in just after the pic was taken and waited around 5 mins for the spot to open up.

    'nuff said.
But those are pretty typical examples, I'd say 6/10, try the post office when single parent allowance is handed out, it looks like a plane full of cars has crashed into the town and just disgorged it's contents in a massive explosion.
Also, try the market, where the Icarus statue used to be, I always want to put up a webcam there, because when I describe what goes on there on a daily basis, my friends in Germany say "Ah go away, you're just making this sh*t up, surely things could never be this bad" when I tell them that the parking there resembles a warzone where people have just fled their cars and ran for it to escape the poison gas.
But for REALLY bad parking, try Corofin and Ennistymon, it simply defies description.

A follow up: This is one of two cars that parked on the verge yesterday.

You can also see the car is at a junction and level with a continuous white line.

My home estate won a Pride of Place award this year, and volunteers keep the verges, public places etc. in great shape all year round.

This is the result of the local school drop-off. Most mornings and afternoons some parents park half on the grass verge and now that the ground is damp the inevitable damage is being caused.

Not fantastic quality picture, The red and navy Avensis are parked in the driving lane with no drivers, waiting for their little darlings to come our of school.

The rest are parked on the foot path, inside the yellow lines.

Must have looked a bit odd seeing somebody in a car taking pictures outside a school though... ;):D

Dundrum Town Centre a few minutes ago. There was no-one in the car so they weren't sitting there waiting for a space. Not overly obnoxious but still...

Was the car park full? Pretty standard place to park cars when the car parks full. Even the car park staff tell you to park there.

Point taken! It's a potential problem, unfortunately.

I know of someone who was maliciously reported to AGS after taking photos of chaotic and dangerous parking outside a school. He made the mistake of taking the photos while the kids were still out and about, thereby leaving himself open to such an attack.

There are motorists out there who would prefer to make such sinister allegations rather than park legally and with consideration for others.

There's something about parking that brings out the worst in some people...

But the parking sytems controls the number of vehicles in the car park so the numbers matcha nd available spaces are marked with green lights!

Not necessarily. Last Christmas every day I was parking on one of the hatched areas as there were far more cars then spaces.

The system counts the number of cars entering and matches them to the number of spaces but doesn't take account of the number of lost spaces where dopes have parked too far over the line for the next space to be usable, and when busy the few empty spaces that are there are not easy to find (specially if you can't be arsed driving all the way to the roof level/ bottom basement/end furthest from the lift).

Saw this genius "parking" earlier in the local garage forecourt!! Not even in a parking space and blocking the exit from the rear of the garage for anyone who wanted use the air/water services. The young wan driver was inside (adorned in her best pj's) with her clan sitting down to eat . Wayda earn that 'L' plate!!

    greatparking.jpg

Edit: There were loads of empty parking spaces at the time. Too much to ask for I suppose.

Lidl in Clonee, typical scene with multiple cars parked blocking the pedestrian crossing so people have to walk into the traffic so some lard arse doesn't have to walk to/from the car park like the rest of us.

Playground in Dunboyne, loads of spaces available and this bright spark decides to park in the clearway on the pathway in to the playground. Some people shouldn't be allowed have a car.

Not really. It's illegal to park on a foothpath

It is for pedestrians to walk, not for people to walk around cars and bikes and whatever other crap people decide to plank in our paths
Some people are less mobile than others and need space to get around

Nothing over the top about it. The only thing over the top is people's inconsideration of others once their own needs are fulfilled
