No pic, but I was standing at the bus stop on the N11 near the Appian Way and there was a lady in her car, half in her drive way, half out on the footpath just sitting there for a good 5 mins.

Along came the postman and she reversed out more so he could give her her mail through the car window. So now she's blocking the WHOLE footpath, so any passing pedestrians would have to walk out on to the N11 to get by while she sits there reading her post for another 5 mins.

Finally she decides to move on, and just as she's reversing out on to the road an old man is walking around the car pushing a bicycle - yep, she knocks in to the bike, a smiley 'sorry' and a wave later and she's on her way.

This pedestrian had successfully navigated past deliberately abandoned automobiles on the designated throughfare and then I got out my photographic instrument..

Not obnoxious parking (or driving) per se, but direct evidence of it.

For reasons that remain incomprehensible to me, motorists seems to regard it as both necessary and normal to park on this footpath.

This isn't obnoxious enough for some, so they take it a 'step' further and drive along this 60-70 metre stretch of footpath. One lady does this every weekday, even when there are pedestrians (including children) already walking on the path. Her own kids are safely inside the car, so what's the problem?

The footpath drivers mount the footpath at the dished kerb at one end, then exit using its counterpart at the junction, having parked for a while somewhere along the way, often on the dished kerb itself and straddling the stop line. It seems they're trying to avoid subjecting their precious motor to that terrible jarring bump you get when you drive onto or off a full-height kerb.

    Not too many footsteps ;)

Now that I think of it, it may have just been someone rolling a heavy tyre (and possibly even wheeling a bike at the same time)!

I cant wait to see who puts up the first picture of a badly parked car with the owners fist in the foreground heading straight for the lens of the camera.;) Now that would be a great picture!:D

    Outside Dublin's GPO this evening

It didn't seem to bother the garda who watched it and walked past me as I took the pic!

Pfff, they had a car lashed up on the kerb at a 30 degree angle while they were having a chat with a garda the other day at about 6pm. What was worse was the pair of mini-buses full of little old dears parked behind it, which later had a Garda motorbike escort down Henry Street.

Wow, parking like that is not just your every day, common or garden variety thoughtlessness, parking like that takes years of dedication, hard work and a special talent. It is so obnoxious, you almost have to admire it.
    Hand that guy the price!
I was at the crescent too this weekend and while it was busy, it wasn't impossible to find a space.
I have never failed to find a space there, it might take 10 minutes, but I could not bring myself to just dump her anywhere.

I'd parked legitimately in one of the spaces for the Medical Centre there before and when I was finished that Landcruiser Van was parked across the back of me blocking me in. I went into the shop and asked him if he minded moving. His response went in no way to removing stereotypes of rural gents in commercialised 4x4s. A real ****ing charmer whose massive girth I can only attribute to his fondness for French cuisine as he studied at the Sorbonne.

    i dont get it.

parked in tesco clondalkin the other day for no more than 5 mins.

was parked crisp perfectly (that odd time it happens)

right in the lines and car to the right is same , parked very well

i go away. come back 5 mins to find a different car to the right of me and parked slightly further away from my car and my right wing mirror folded in.

    wtf ?

other day parked in carrickmines right up against a kerb with plenty of space on the other side.

some gimp still manages to knock me passenger mirror in a bit by hitting it even though there was plenty of room.

    gimps

MICRA OWNERS. Attach a party sparkler to the aerial of your car, since you drive like it's a f@cking dodgem anyway.

UK DRIVERS. Save money on expensive personalised car number plates by simply changing your name to match your existing plate.

PERFORMANCE CAR ENTHUSIASTS. If driving quickly over speed bumps causes your exhaust to come loose, try reversing over them. That should tighten everything up.

ILLEGAL PARKERS. Completely avoid parking tickets by leaving your windscreen wipers as well as your hazard warning lights on whenever you park your car illegally.

OBNOXIOUS PARKERS. Avoid parking problems by trying hard to park all crooked. There is a good chance you will end up perfectly straight and within the lines.

OLD PEOPLE. Attach a sweeping brush to the front of your mobility scooter or walking aid. Now, instead of just being a menace on the pavements, you can provide a valuable service to your community.

LOCAL AUTHORITIES. Reduce litter problems by issuing blind people with pointy sticks.

DISABLED PEOPLE. Save time and trouble by avoiding footpaths and dished kerbs. Stay on the road, which is usually less bumpy and often has no vehicles parked on it.

This next one wouldn't be too bad, only he's forcing everyone on his side of the road into the opposite side on a very bad bend.
