Need to bring the camera with me in future. people in f**cking loading bays. I dont mean commercial vehicles, I mean braindead idiots in private cars stopped. If Im stopped off your driver side rear standing on the horn that means GTFO, you are not entitled to park there, I am. Im tempted to start dropping quite heavy objects from my van on these muppets bonnets.

On the upside I have seen an 08 merc getting lifted from a loading bay in cork back in 08, that was a good day.

have to agree and can I include the vehicles parked in LOADING bays that arent LOADING ie Telecom, ESB, window cleaners, zillions of 4WDs who are most likely farmers gone shopping, alarm specialists etc etc etc.

Well, c'mon now you should cut her some slack, would be different if it was a 20 something year old guy in a flashy car.
Don't think there are any dedicated OAP spaces and she might not qualify for disabled badge but still be a bit frail.
I hate it when people use the parent and child spaces, it boils my blood. But if it was someone like her it wouldn't mind so much.

I had my 2yo twins with me and I had to walk on the road with them as I couldn't use the footpath between the spaces as she was parked on the FOOTPATH!!!!!!!

I agree with the fact that old peeps should have use of such spaces but she was blocking the FOOTPATH between the two rows of parking spaces. Oh and she was blocking the pedestrian crossing. I've made the pics a bit bigger to make it easier to see:

Are those parent child parking spots actually legit like disabled spots? I always see people parking on them without children etc in carparks that are full.

  • Registered Users Posts: 827 ✭✭✭VinnyTGM

If that was a young guy parked there like that I'm pretty sure security/Gards would have been involved, in my eyes if they can't park decently in a space that size, they shouldn't be driving on public roads.

Lads these are parent and child spaces - I use them when ever I have the kids with me, but most people don't respect them and will use them regardless.

Those spaces have no legal standing in any event.

+1 to haddock man. They have no legal standpoint and I will continue to park in them if they are free and the nearest available space.

On the other hand I wouldnt dream of parking in a disabled bay - those people are both legally and morally more entitled to the spaces than I am.

Regardless of your views on parent and child parking spaces, what kind of fukking idiot would park across two oversized parking spaces!!!

Hey guys got some pics in Drogheda today sent them from my phone to my email, how do I get them up on here? Thanks for any help :o

Just spotted this 20 minutes ago at my local Tesco, in Greystones. When I was going into the store both Gardaí were in the pharmacy, and when I was leaving the store they were heading into the Grocery department carrying a pharmacy bag and didn't seem to be in any rush, having a chat, so I presume they weren't responding to an emergency of any sort. Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for the Gardaí, have Garda mates, and acknowledge that they have a very tough job, but this kind of parking by our boys and girls in blue is completely unnecessary. I don't know if its a good or a bad thing that they didn't even park between the lines.. :pac:

Create an account in a site like photobucket. Then when you put in the picture, you put in the picture's URL. With photobucket it will give you this on the left when you click on the photo

Probably getting urgent medical supplies for an ill prisoner if asked

I'll print out a copy and take it down to the station and see what they say about it. I can't imagine it'll be taken very seriously at all given the general attitude of most of the folks down there in any dealings I've had with them previously.

As a matter of fact I did have a glance in the windscreen when I walked by the front of the car, and lo and behold, no disabled badge! :pac:

Considering there were empty bays literally about 15 feet behind the car I don't think that one would hold up. Combined with the trip into the grocery dept. :pac:

Yeah, we know. It's still a shameless display of obnoxious parking by anybody's standards.

Ok, you're right, no need to block up the footpath.
So instead of frail old dear, ignorant old bitch? :D

Mahon Point. Plenty of spaces to park, but as it was raining at the time, I guess they didn't want to get wet like the rest of us...
