    Hey guys,

After having gotten quake2 running on my vista machine I'm wondering would anyone be on for a quake2 session at some point ? However, we'd need to get a server up and running. Rev, would that be possible ? That's if anyone would be interested of course.

Failing that, does anyone know of any Q2 servers that still have some activity on them ? Specifically, vanilla FFA or Deathmatch.

    Cheers,
    TC

Quakeservers.net is a good place to start.

It looks like there is an irish server up, but it's running Lithium II. However there are plenty of UK servers on the page that I just linked, so you should be well catered to.

There are still a few around, we'd a session a good few months back, good fun.

Well if ever there's another session I'll certainly partake. I found a fairly decent UK based lot of Q2 Servers. Check out http://www.fusters.co.uk/. There's nearly always someone on the FFA Server. They also have a DM Server too.

I also found a half way decent US Server although pings are back up to the HPB pings of yore but still reasonably playable as it's full of muppets.

Runs on Linux, accepts connection form Windows too. Enjoy! (Can put a Battlegrounds or CTF server is anyone needs it, just ask)

Q2 Battlegrounds is now running at quake2.altfire.com:27969

TinCool has the admin password (if he checks his private messages).

    Enjoy :)

Looking into a CTF server currently, may go with Q2 LMCTF as suggested - but I'm open to suggestions..........?
