Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anybody been to an F1 test? Ive been told that they are good to see as everything is much more open and that it is possible to get close to the cars/drivers compared to going to a GP?

I've been to Montmelo in Nov 2007. Generally it's fine, as for €5 I got access to couple of tribunes having an opportunity to make some photos etc. The PITs are closed (you have to have a special pass). I was there for 2 days and collected only one autograph (Kubica), so it's not a good result especially comparing to this year Belgian GP or Italian GP last year. Photos available here: f1-drivers-autographs . com -> Author section.
Anyway I'm going there again in the middle of March. There will be the last tests before the new season.

    Thanks,
any other info on that. I might go. Are tickets needed etc? Any website with this info or info on other tests before the season gets started. I cant find anything on google

All tests have been already scheduled. You can find it here. Tickets are available on the track only and as wrote previously €5 per day. The price should be similar on each track.

Get it while it lasts - isn't testing going to be severly limited in future - i.e. to race weekends only?

Yep, it has been confiremd - no tests during the season. So Montmelo in the middle of March will be the last one and then the next one in November.

Hi,i've been to 2 test days both in Barcelona and it is great way to hear and see the cars, It was 6 euro in last time in March and you can go around the whole track, sit in seats that cost hundreds of euro,i'm into photography and its great for getting photos with no one standing in the way.

Track is open from 9 to 5pm and they'res always cars going around .getting from the airport is easy,1st time we got a taxi and it was 65 euro and had to walk a fair bit to get the train back to the city from montmelo and 2nd time we rented a car which was the better idea.

Also i would consider doing the track tour, i didn't and i regret it now, could of got even better photos . The weather is usually great and you can even buy beer there :)

Tests are definitely a great opportunity to see the cars, however, as far as I know 10 years ago was even better as it was possible to go to the pits.
Montmelo is quite good accesible using public transport. You can go by green train line from Barcelona to Montmelo and walk about 30 mins (Monza is also quite good). For any other tracks a car would be recommended. In September I was traveling all night getting from Charleroi to Spa (2 trains and 1 bus!

BTW. Was there (in IRL) any other F1 event accept Nico Rosberg visit in Naas 2 years ago?
