Putting in a door step question

    If you have a ground floor doorway the external leaf foundations and raft need to be joined.

    so from what I can see it looks like

    Outdoors -> outer leaf -> gap -> inner leaf -> insulation ->raft

    sort of like ____________|-|_|-|*

    So what's the correct way to bridge and maintain a damp proof membrane when putting in a concrete doorstep and providing a level surface at the base of the doorway?

    I was thinking that expanding foam in the gap topped with a slate would work.

    Bridge the gap from inner leaf to the internal side of outer leaf using insulation up to 150mm from top of inner leaf /concrete shuttering the remaining space and pipe at base to allow any water to flow .Install dpc under doors and over outside shuttering. Keep the outer leaf as key for steps when all ground works are complete
