According to the email i got, the shipment date was the 16th, but so far no call from the couriers. Do they call everyone?

Wonder if it is worth giving my local depot a quick call?

I've no idea as mine just arrived without any shipping email. Are you sure it has been shipped?

Got mine this morning, only ordered on Tuesday.
Really top class image quality and colours.
Games are just stunning at native res with no ghosting whatsoever.
Its a better monitor than the Samsung 22" it has just replaced as my main monitor.

Anyone hesitating on this, dont!, its a stunning piece of kit for a stunning price.

If you didn't get a DPD consignment number you can ring Dell with your order number on 061-300 694 and ask for it.
(mods, this phone number is freely available but please remove if necessary)

Enter the DPD number in the quick track on http://www.dpd.ie/ for delivery status.

heh, the reasoning behind the low price has become apparent. they are trying to flog it off as they have a newer version with a higher resolution. I notice the business section now points to the newer one only. if anyone still has their eyes set on this i'd probably be best to buy quickly; the offer says it's until the 29th, but at the rate they have been selling they might well run out of the old ones before that.

Do you have a link for the newer version?

Hmmm, looks nice but I think I'll stick with the samsung 2493 I was thinking of getting.

Ok I decided to postpone bed and test it out. Have my laptop hooked up to it now. everything looks great however there's a inch wide black border just on the right of the screen.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks.

edit: lol, just found the auto adjust button.
    Everything's sorted!

Another edit: Can't get sound from my Xbox 360. The speakers that came with it don't seem to have an input.
They just contain a lead with a standard 3.5mm RCA male jack. Ok for plugging into laptop but I don't know how to get sound from my 360 on to the speakers.

The VGA output for the xbox 360 contains 2 sound leads that I have converted in a 3.5 RCA jack like above. Is there any way to xconnect two male RCA jacks?

Had a quick look and I'm guessing this is what I'm looking for?

I think you may have forgot a link :)

Strangely enough something like this will do they trick

    How will that work?
The xbox VGA lead has a 3.5mm male output and so do the speakers.

Someone on hotdealsuk said one of these is what I need:
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=34619

However Maplin wanted to 8 pounds to ship to Ireland.
Do Dealextreme sell those at all?

If not, could I order the one mentioned above? I stick the male into my PC and the xbox and speakers into the female? would that work?

Hi All, this looks like a great deal, even at €207 now!

    Just wondering;

Is there a HDMI-in port? The specs say VGA and DVI?

Are all you guys using HDMI-out on your pc's to HDMI-in?

If this is the case then can you really get that HDMI quality with DVI?

Also, I have a mac, would i be able to hook this up?

I thought i was fairly tech savy, but the HDMI thing has thrown me a bit!

Both DVI and HDMI are digital connections and are capable of resolutions exceeding 1080p, so either should be fine. HDMI though is recommended as it is the latest digital video connection and offers more than its predecessors.

DVI and HDMI carry the same digital video signals. You can get HDMI<->DVI cables to connect different devices.

It's just a different packaging, and HDMI has audio connections also, which are usually not used on PC monitors.

HDMI has become the defacto standard for digital connections to TVs, but it may not become so for monitors since there is a new connector type called DisplayPort.

    Ix.

I've put an order into DELL for one of these, but I'm telling you, never again will I deal with this shower of muppets. I don't care if they are giving away stuff, it's the worst level of customer service I've ever encountered - ever.

Anyone think maybe with the deal ending on the 29th it may be due to go down further for the sales. I cant decide whether to buy now or chance it

At the rate they're selling I doubt they'd feel the need to reduce the price any further.

    But I could be wrong.
