Wiring new stereo in VW Passat

Evening All, I've come across a bit of a problem wiring in a new stereo in my Passat. I got the adaptor required, but can only get the stereo to start when the ignition is off. Once I turn on the ignition the power dies. I've tried all different combinations for wiring the but with no success. Only stuff I can find online…

Evening All,

The permenant and live are switched.
Ie. red goes to yellow and yellow goes to red.
