OK, I'm sick of getting home a bit drunk with a new friend and pressing play on my CD player only to be confronted with some Aphex Twin or Radiohead. So I'm looking to either compile a playlist or a mix CD of some sexy choonage so give me the music you can get in the mood to. But let's keep it cheese free now so you can get away with your Marvin Gayes and your Barry Whites.

First few tracks that come to mind are:
    Dusty Springfield - Spooky
Zero 7 - In the Waiting Line
The Knife - Pass this on
    Air - Playground Love

Upchurch and Tennyson - Don't I Know You? (albeit a tiny bit cheesy)

Explosions in the Sky - The Long Spring

Primal Sun - Higher than the Sun (A Dub Symphony....)

Kold, just a suggestion or else some will post you a huge list but want to limit each poster to x number of songs?
    I'll give you 3

Bon Iver - For Emma Forever Ago
Múm - The Ghosts you draw on my back (may be a bit weird)
Ryan Adams - La Ciegana just smiled

I find em pretty hit and miss. Some fantastic tunes and some not. They're meant to be amazing live though.

Look for a Maroon 5/Marvin Gaye Mashup: Sexual Healing VS She Will Be Loved makes the ultimate porn groove.

Night Drive by Jimmy Eat World starts off kind of sexily, gets a bit angry though... do you like angry sex?

    Snoop Dogg - Sexual Eruption.

Supermassive black hole???- innuendo or in-your-end-o :D

Air-moon safari, some french jazzy-hip-hop with M.C. Solaar or strangely enough the latest crystal castles album,

How about Grace Jones - Pull up to the Bumper, slave to the rhythm,

Orange Juice do a great version of L-O-V-E love if the Al Green version is a bit cheesy

Some Roxy Music perhaps, however now that i think about it there's a fair bit of cheese in Avalon and Dance away etc, but same old scene, or a song for europe would be a bit more like it

I know quite a few people who go for 'wild is the wind' by David Bowie but a bit cheesy for me

Ah Kold, ya can't call Marvin Gaye cheese. I Want You always gets me in the mood without fail http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJrfeexLB74 (Let's Get It On is the typical Marvin choice but that does nothing for me - in fact I do think that's rather cheesy; Sexual Healing - a bit sexier but still fairly naff - trés 80s, not a sexy decade).

Inside My Love by Minnie Riperton - ridiculously sexual. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2vHgWpMY_s

And... you'd probably consider this cheesy but I'll include it anyway - Love To Love You Baby by Donna Summer.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1ArZEFwRsY

Something tells me you want to avoid the 70s black, porny-sounding thing... but it's not all Barry White-alike silliness (which is seriously UNsexy stuff - apart from bits of I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More and Never Never Gonna Give You Up, which are practically the same song. Just the music though, not the talking. Ew... what a sleaze).

And the king of sexah songs: Je T'Aime (Moi Non Plus) by pervy aul' Serge Gainsbourg and his then gal, the angelic English rose (who was really rather filthy actually - those posh birds always are) Jane Birkin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHiMDB19Dyc

Clichés the lot of them but they still get the clothing off... and isn't that all that matters...? ;):D

Should only be played if both (or more!) parties know sex is definitely on the cards as they're about as subtle as a sledgehammer.

Let's not forget this little ditty, guaranteed to set the mood right.

David Bowie is pretty good for setting the mood (although I'm a Barry White/Marvin Gaye man myself :D) with some songs like Right, Wild Is The Wind, Prettiest Star, Rock 'n' Roll With Me, Be My Wife.

    Few more to add.

    The Breeders - Overglazed
"I can feel it. Oh, oh OH" - no other lyrics necessary.

My Bloody Valentine - Only Shallow
Perfect contrast between the intense, powerful music and dreamy otherworldly vocals. Not sure about everyone else, but I find it really sexy.

    Garbage - Milk
Shirley Manson's voice on this song is so seductive. Especially when she cos "I'm aching, I'm aching for you."

I dunno lads, if I went to a her place and she put on Marvin Gaye, I'd probably have a hard time not having a giggle.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned this here song? It was written especially for the making of the love.

Can't believe I forgot this in my first post, the last word in seduction:

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

What would be the judgement on this appearing on the playlist? I think Mr Reznor's lyrics let him down sometimes.. That beat is pretty class though.

    Madonna - Justify your love.
Velvet Underground - Venus in Furs.
Gainsbourg (one of the sexiest men ever)- je T'aime.

There all obvious but I can't help it if they work for me. And they have in the past and will in the future.

Dudess's post is excellent. But she nicked my Donna Summer.
