Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sky Sports News understands that Blackburn Rovers are set to appoint Sam Allardyce as their new manager.

Allardyce is reported to have been in discussions with the Ewood Park outfit since late on Tuesday night and he is now set to succeed Paul Ince.

The former Bolton and Newcastle boss has made no secret of his desire to return to management since leaving St James' Park in January.

Allardyce, 54, along with ex-England boss Steve McClaren, was a contender for the Ewood Park hot-seat in the summer, but Ince - who was sacked on Tuesday - was the preferred candidate.

However, Allardyce now looks set to be named Rovers' new chief and it appears he will be appointed in time for Saturday's home meeting with Stoke City.

They're probably better off sticking with O'Neill :)

    No surprise really.

I'm off down the bookies now to have a rather large punt on Ricky Sbragia being made the new Sunderland manager at 9/4.

Blackburn Rovers have appointed Sam Allardyce as their new manager on a three-year contract.

Rovers sacked Paul Ince on Tuesday and made it clear they wanted a new boss at the helm for Saturday's home game against Stoke.

Allardyce has been out of work since he was dismissed as manager of Newcastle in January.

Graeme Souness had also been linked with the job but had already ruled himself out of the running.
