Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, was wondering what techniques are used to get straight edges while painting, i.e going from wall to ceiling, or doing an accent wall. An trying masking tape but its taking off the paint underneath, even the reccommended light adhesive ones! Tried to do it by hand with an edging brush but that wasnt the best result.

    Any hints?

Decent quality synthetic bristled brush (expect to pay about 10-15 quid for a decent 2.5in, but if you look after it it'll last), held correctly, by the neck of the handle, like you'd hold a pen, brush well loaded with paint and a steady hand/arm.
Start the brush an inch away from the edge you're cutting in to and curve the line in till it meets it, then lock your arm and use your shoulder and upper arm to draw the line downwards.
Masking tape can be a problem on emulsion, as you've seen it lifts, even when it's been dry for ages. I'd really only use masking tape on unpainted surfaces or those with oil paint/varnish, like woodwork and trim, and usually only under the area to protect from drips/dots/spray.
