Surround sound setup??

Just moved in to a new house with surround sound speakers built into the ceilings.
At the moment the wires are sticking out of the wall at a central point. What do i need to set the speakers up? Is it an amplifier or something else.
The speakers are in three different rooms , so i would need a remote to control them? What do i need to connect to the tv. PC etc.?

    Thanks in advance.

You need some sort of Amplification, and some sort of Reciever to play sources (CD/DVD/Radio etc).

    google distribution amplifier.

if you want more advice, come back with a few more details in the requirements.
