It looks like he tried to kill himself and took his wife out before he did the act. Maybe she tried to stop him and he killed her.

Is this just speculation on your part? I haven't read anything like that yet in any of the reports

It's sad. I remember him getting suspended earlier this year for heavy prescription painkillers. RIP to them both

A few other notes from f4wonline.com:
    More on Justin Levens death

    By Dave Meltzer

The Orange County Sheriff's department this afternoon stated autopsy results are not back in the death of former UFC fighter Justin Levens, and wife Sara McLean-Levens, 25, who were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds on their bed in a Laguna Niguel condo by McLean-Levens' mother, who had not heard from her daughter in five days.

Police believe the couple had been dead for a couple of days when they were found at 2:30 p.m. yesterday.

No suicide note was found, but police believe it to be a murder/suicide.

Levens and his wife were both scheduled to appear Wednesday in court where they faced charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

Levens, 28, was in significant financial trouble and fighters close to him said they could see him spiraling downward, particularly since the suicide death of Southern California Condors teammate Jeremy Williams.

Levens had been under a 180-day suspension from fighting since July by the California State Athletic Commission for testing positive for high doses of the painkiller oxymorphone for a fight on the 7/19 Affliciton show that ended up being canceled due to time constraints.

Pain pills as well as anti-depressant pills were found in the home.

NBCSports.com quoted Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's Department as saying, "We can't say 100 percent right now, but it is a possibility of that (murder/suicide) with him being the shooter."

Police had been called to the Levens home twice over the past month, including one time due to a suspected drug overdose.

    More from f4wonline.com:
We have another update on the Justin Levens case. The autopsy results are in and as expected, Levens death was due to a gunshot wound to the head. Sara Levens' death was from a gunshot wound to the heart. The gun was found next to him. "If it's a murder/suicide, he's the shooter," said Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's department. The autopsy estimated the time of the deaths to be this past Sunday. Of the police department's two calls to the home in recent weeks, one was for an overdose, but they would not specify who had overdosed. The other was because smoke was coming from the home. The fire department investigated but couldn't find a source of the smoke and there was no fire in the home.

I hope that this doesn't become a trend like it has in pro wrestling

It seems like many of the problems within MMA reflect those within pro wrestling.Reasons for suspensions and financial strains for both fighters and wrestlers are virtually identical.I can only hope that the MMA industry acts alot quicker than the pro wrestling industry ever has in relation to dealing with such problems before it becomes an epidemic

Watched his fight with Tanner last night, UFC 59 - he was well outclassed, but seemed a good guy showing respect before and after the fight.
Who would have thought that both of them would be gone 2 and a half years later.
    Crazy.
