    Ah, THAT would be sweet.

Genetics is guaranteed though- don't you just love it?

my big tip is a full q on the heart, possibly a bit of the blood chapter mixed in with it.

Well, i have a few tips alright. Follow these and you wont go far wrong:

    Cover Unit 1+2 in depth
Heart + Blood (got that from a very reliable source)
    Senses
    Protista

there wont be as much emphasis on plants in unit 3 as there would be on the body

Not into give hints but any biology student should know next year (2009) is a big year for biology...a little something to do with a guy called Darwin...

Now what would the likelyhood that will come up hmm?

Oh God I actually hope the scientific method doesn't come up, it's so boring I actually can't make myself learn it, I hope more sciencey stuff comes up!

The scientific method isn't sciency now?????:P

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

    Not sciencey enough dammit.

  • Registered Users Posts: 922 ✭✭✭IrishKnight

The scientific method is a bit too simplistic for a question. Might see it in a short question or a small part of a long question...

I'd be brushing up on Darwin's Theory...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,939 ✭✭✭mardybumbum

Ah I know what you mean. Defining a hypothesis, theory, principle, yada yada made mardybumbum a sad panda.
What am I doing on this LC forum anyway, I should have moved on months ago! :o

EDIT: And Irish Knight could be right, Neo Darwinism is likely to pop up according to my sister anyway! She knows everything

OH ER I Cant Type Properly-Observation Hypothesis Experimentation Results Interpretation Conclusion Theory Principal. Thats about it, definition of control......mostly common sense.

    My acronyms are weird.

    pV=nRT (You dont wanna know how I remember it, so random it stays in my head :p, to let you guess its kinda duuuuuuuuuurty){Its the Eq for an ideal gas incase anyone worries that they havent covered it, its chem relax!}

Our Biology teacher has been telling us for the last 2 years to learn off 4 topics really well:

    Respiration
    Photosynthesis
    Excretion
    Transpiration

I reckon Structure and Sexual Reproduction in Flowering Plants'll be up too.

May God Have Mercy on us all.

I have a feeling aswell that the liver will have an appearence.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,979 ✭✭✭Jammyc

    Oh yeah

    we were also told

When in doubt as to where something is, say the liver.
and youre more than likely right.

    General advice for LC Biology:http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=57359199&postcount=14
(I couldn't be bothered typing it all out again :)) Remember, UNIT 1 and UNIT 2 plus the experiments is worth 80% of the marks.

Lol, that similar to the way I used deal with French - if you don't know the French word for something, just stick an accent over the first vowel of the English word and you're sorted! :D
Unfortunately, it did not work in every instance.

Is PV=nRT really that difficult to remember that you need a dirty (sorry, I mean duurrrrty) pneumonic?

no.........not at all, all to make Gas Laws interesting! (which is tough)

    Suburbs=suburbios! :p

    For what its worth......Section C Q's....

Ecology in some shape or form.
    Respiration and/or Photosynthesis.
Genetics (Structure of DNA, gen eng, dna profiling, crosses, protein synth)
    Reproduction (plant and/or human)
    Enzymes
    Transport in Humans and/or Plants.

Seems like a short list til you really look at it then you realise its a shed load of stuff!
