Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Like a lot of his stunts, it just makes him look like a fool, and he's helping us generate even more pubicity for the club in the run-up to Tallaght.

An Open Letter to Michael O'Leary

    Dear Michael

We sincerely hope you are more up to date on matters at Aer Lingus in particular and the airline industry in general than you are about Shamrock Rovers.

You've probably been so busy working all these years that you hadn't noticed the six championships, four FAI Cups and three doubles we've won since the 1980s.

Still Ireland's most successful football club, the Hoops are no longer homeless as we'll be playing in the spanking new Tallaght Stadium from next season. You can't miss the place – it's across from the Square, right in the centre of Tallaght, and just off the M50.

And we're offering great deals on seats. Season tickets for our home games for the entire 2009 campaign start at just €200. Return Ryanair flights to Manchester United's next home game would cost a lot more!

Anyway, thanks for the thought. You may not always be right, but we'll always be Shamrock Rovers - Ireland's greatest football club and now residents of Tallaght.

    Yours sincerely

The Board of Shamrock Rovers FC

God forbid anyone would use a metaphor these days, ye have a lot to complain about.

Clever response by Shams, although, as pointed out elsewhere, you've won no FAI Cups since the 80s.

Not as if MOL would know, anyway.

Between a lego stadium and being funded by the goverment, rovers can do no wrong with all this publicity.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

What do you mean a bit?

I don't see what all the fuss is about. His comparison is accurate and comical. Well done Mick.

To paraphrase Eamo, Michael O`Leary is a rebel, an outlaw, and he stands up to bullies.

Not an opinion that goes down well with two people I work with who are ex Ryanair but **** it, the man is a legend :) Took on the big boys and broke the airline cartels wide open. Before him people were paying a weeks wages for a return from London ffs, he forced the rest of them to bring their fares down. The man is a class act, he speaks his mind and doesnt give a flying **** what the rest of the world thinks. Proper Irish modern day hero tbh.

Just wish he had offices where you could pay in cash. I despise online buying of anything, pain in the hole.

No matter what you think of MOL, it's match point for everybody. Rovers get another plug for Tallaght and MOL stays in the news. Everybody happy, really.
