illustrator...bevel and extrude...help!

hey guys.. I was trying to follow a tutorial online to create 3D type in illustrator..followed it exactly..they only thing was, when I pressed ok with the setting to angle the font....nothing happened...rendered for ages..but then the type was just the same...in its normal 1D state, anyone know what I did wrong?..I tried…

hey guys..

Im very good at photoshop but a newbie at illustrator....

was there something I didnt check?..
