Just want to get an insight into science at UCD.

What's your experience of it and would you reccommend it?

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I'm in the omnibus science course, just to let you know where I'm coming from,

Any science degree will serve you well, however, by doing science in UCD, you can pick from up to 25 possible degrees ranging from genetics to maths to physics and everything in between.

While the workload can be large, it is fair and rewarding. In most if not all cases, 40% of your overall mark is from labs, tutorials and mid terms.

In first year, you learn quite general stuff, and you slowly start to specialise as the years past. By third year would will have specialised into what ever degree you want eg chemistry.

For more information feel free to PM me to go to http://www.ucd.ie/science

I'm doing chemistry and I absolutely love it. The hours are very tough in 3rd and 4th year but the workload is perfect in 1st and 2nd year.
Be careful if you want to do neuroscience or any of the other denominated entry courses- it's very hard to get into them from the omnibus stream.

Hey Im doin Climate and Earth System Science
Its a dominated entry.....its really interestin overall but the core maths subjects are really tough but if u are doin honours maths and physics at the mo it would really help especially applied maths.

For the science course in general is very good, there are more hours for chemistry and biology than physics and maths.

Any other questions let us know :D
