alarm fault

    Hi All,
    Have a prob with my alarm system,its ancient but anyway on the keypad its flashing up U A 5 T L,just one digit at a time,it sets its self off the odd time too.
    nothing done to it lately,i changed the outside bell a few months ago but its worked fine till now.
    Any info would be appreciated.

    u means unset
    a means alarm
    5 means zone 5 or could be an s which means set
    t means tamper
    l means lid.
    the lid off the panle must be loose or the tamper spring which the lid closes on is dislodged and causing a tamper fault

    Doesn't sound too serious. Like north dublin said there is a lid tamper & the last actication was zone 5.
    Sort the lid tamper & it will set as normal, if it still shows A5 with everything closed you have a faulty sensor or contact on that zone.
    Fairly old all right. You should consider upgrading.
