I don't think you can get it in Dublin I tried everywhere for it. When i was in Manchester 2 weeks ago they sold it in petrol stations. I must have purcvhased about 30 packs of it.

    Thanks everyone

I've found out that Tesco do sell it in some of the stores but it's not branded as Jerky

I'm considering making my own at this stage :)

What section was it in? I have never seen it in my local tesco.

    Dunno yet ...
I've sent in a spy in the form of a Tesco employee and will be sure to let you know what he comes back with :D
He is under strict instructions to buy the whole shelf load when he finds it

i'm sure i've seen jerky and biltong in plenty of random Londis and Spars about the city centre, can't be anymore specific than that though!

OK thanks. I read your previous post too quick and thought you had found it in tesco.

    Hi.

there's a butcher's in Parnell street, just after the bookstore that specialises in goods from Southern Africa. They always have Biltong, but it really flies off the shelf. They also have beef sausages (boerewors..mmmmmm)

You should try there. It is NOT beef jerky. Having tried jerky some years back, I can't say I was impressed, and really do love my biltong:D

Anyone managed to locate any Beef Jerky in Dublin yet? I've a North American Boyfriend living here who is obsessed with the stuff! It'd definitely score me some serious brownie points if I managed to find some! :p

    Many thanks!

It's actually not unreasonably hard. A friend of mine did it. Can't quite remember how, but he is on boards so I can PM you his name if you want.

It was pretty tasty, just needs further experimentation with different seasoning for flavour.

    Try these guys.

I've bought from them a fair few times, they are pretty fast at shipping.
Their jerky is very dry (the way I like it) I've bought from lads in the UK but it tends to be moist.

Thanks! Newry is better than none - i feel a road trip coming on...

I don't know why, but the idea of ordering dried meat on the internet screams cannibalistic horror movie to me...

    Im looking for it currently.
Tesco in Portlaoise stocked it when they opened their new store but it was all gone after about 2 weeks.
Then recently I found it in the Apple Green garage on the Dublin Road in Portlaoise. The portions were very scabby for €3.

Haven't been able to find it since. I would buy a box of it if I could!

If you like jerky, I strongly suggest you try biltong. I'd venture that you wouldn't go back to the jerky afterwards.;)

There are a few places in and around Dublin that sells it.
