Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How do you dispose of MP3 players?

I bought a new MP3 player in PC World in the Jervis Shopping centre and went to hand in my old broken one. The staff there told me that they dont not take in old MP3 players and I had to dispose of it myself. I was under the impression that they had to take it back, that's the whole point of the PRF, no?

So, should they have taken it back? Will i just bring it to my local bring centre?

I just bring stuff to the local civic amenity centre. General recycling is €2, electronics free.

You should ring the EPA (LoCall 1890 33 55 99), they will follow up complaints about retailers not complying with the Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment regulations. According to information on their website, all retail outlets selling electronic goods, which I imagine includes MP3s, are obliged to operate a free like-for-like return for household WEEE.

+1000 to this. Seeing as the company specifically charged you for the privilege of disposing of the MP3 player, make sure you follow up on this. Its tantamount to theft !

    That's exactly what I thought!

I called the manager over and he said he was obliged only to take back TVs and big items. The girl who served me was useless also!

    Gonna call the EPA now!
