Im overclocking my q6700 (2.66ghz Stock)

    Just wondering if:

    FSB: 360
    Multiplier 10x

    Is the same as:

    FSB: 400
    Multiplier: 9x

Im a beginner hence it may be a stupid question... Im just wondering if its the same? I know they give the same clock speed but is one favourable over the other?

my thinking on it and i'm not an expert is that its going to take more stability in ur chipset and ram using the x9 than using the x10 to achieve the same cpu speed.

changing the multiplier is a good way to find max fbs or ram speed once you have this you can go about finding ur max cpu speed.

using this information will be able to find your system maxium, this may be on a lower multiplier or a higher one.

hope this helps. sorry if it confuses ya.
