Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So, we stayed top for Christmas, momentum has got to be kept going into the new year.

Bolton aren't the same threat that they always used to be under Big Sam, but they're not exactly a puchover, and we're gonna have to break this Anfield hoodoo.

Torres is rumoured to be on the bench, with Fabio still a week out.

hope to see Insua go to Lb. If Arbeloa is out I'd see Carragher Agger and Hyypia being the rest of the back 4. Gerrard, Alonso, Riera, Keane, Mascherano and Kuyt making up the rest with pepe in goals of course

    Dossena is still sick AFAIK.

1-1, Bolton take the lead, Liverpool dominate get the equaliser but not the winner.

Personally I see it as a very dominant win for Pool, with Torres coming off the bench for the last 10.

I dont predict a lot of goals in this one, but Liverpool will control the game and win by 1 goal.

It's be nice to see Torres out there too but would it be better to rest him for another few days or give him a run out today and risk causing damage again?
I know he has to comeback sometime

Gone for the following on Fantasy Rafa

    Riera
    Carra--Agger-Hyypia-Insua
    ----Masch--Alonso
    Kuyt----Gerrard---Riera
    Keane

If this game can be won without Torres being bothered (unless a gambol about at 3-0 up) so much the better.

Would be inclined not to risk Torres at all for this one.

Who says it would be a risk ? Sammy Lee, Rafa and Torres himself have all said that he wont be coming back until he is 100% fit. If he is on the bench today, it means he is 100% fit and wouldnt be a risk at all.

We have really missed him over the last few weeks.

That is a fair enough point.. Have an image of Torres getting the **** kicked out of him..

That seems to be the trend alright lately.

    Is this game on TV?

I see where youre coming from though...the thought of him limping off again is a nightmare. I honestly dont think we have enough fire power without him to stay in our current position.

Insua has more than earned a place in the team for this game. Theres no reason to have two deep midfielders in this game so I think Masch should stay on the bench...if he has recovered from the flu that is. This would be my team

    Reina

    Carra
    Agger
    Hyypia
    Insua

    Kuyt
    Alonso
    Gerrard----Riera

    Babel---Keane

I know Rafa can make some strange picks sometimes, but Riera playing both in goals AND left wing...

Ok, we keep fielding slow teams, and it keeps visibly costing us when we break and someone has to turn away from goal to shield the ball as they dont have the pace to head for goal.

The team itself is fine in every other respect, but in terms of pace, Gerrard is the only one of the front 6 that has any bit of speed at all. I could see Insua being very important bombing on at LB.

Pressure on Liverpool now, but I expect them to win this game at relative ease.

If you have bbc fivelive you can watch online and listen in Ingerlish.

Bolton really had a great chance to score there. Liverpool look dangerous going forward. They seem to have good balance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,102 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Oooh bit harsh on Yossi there, great move otherwise, would have been clean through.

Good lively start from pool though, lots of pressure and nice touches.

Alonso looks on form today, some fantastic 1 touch passing.
