    Hi all,

I'm thinking of buying an iPhone 3G up in Belfast soon enough. I got a O2 UK (PAYG) sim card at the moment as i travel often enough to the UK or NI but i live in Ireland. I plan on getting the phone unlocked at some point soon also.

Does anyone here know the procedure involved in buying an iPhone on pay as you go in the UK/NI?
Do I need proof of residence (in the UK or otherwise)
and can I pay by cash?

thanks if you can help me :)

Although not an iPhone, I bought a C902 from Fones 4 U in Belfast during the summer. The sales rep told me that most of their O2 PAYG phones were unlocked, you just had to buy £20 call credit with them then take out the O2 sim and insert your own. Don't know what the procedure is for the iPhone but that might help you if you want to use your Irish O2 sim in the phone ?
